It was a chilly Sunday afternoon but over 50 of our faithful supporters gathered on the back lawn of the Peekskill Museum on May 17th, to hear
the details of our three year restoration project. Augie Augustowski, Museum President welcomed the visitors
and introduced Calvert Schlick our current Vice President. Cal was President when we began the ambitious project and guided us through the complicated details of administering the two NY State grants we received, as well as monitoring the expenditure
of Museum funds to complete the restoration. He explained the highlights of that journey and gave credit to the many individuals and organizations that aided us along the way. He then introduced John Beers, the general contractor who was responsible
for the endless details of the task as well as managing the sub-contractors that were on site. John is a "hands-on" craftsman that never comprised on any of the historic design features of the Herrick House. Authentic materials and construction techniques
were employed throughout and the finished product is a sterling example of what can be accomplished when a dedicated team, who take pride in their work, come together with a common goal.

restoration project.
After the formal presentations, our guests enjoyed refreshments,
that included this layer cake with a beautiful picture of the
restored front of the Museum.
